Have been away for a few days so it's nice to come back to a good list of replies.

However, I realised a flaw in my plan: most of you are Americans and thus recommended American books which use American measurements and products. :P I rather hope that my non-pregnant brain would have thought of this before asking the question, but you never know.

That said, I'll look into the Betty Crocker and see how usable it is for a ... sort-of Brit.
