Because that...thing...looks more like Jabba the Hutt than anything male or female. The first one is fairly sexist, I guess though. But to be honest I don't see how a floating alien chick in space is all that bad, considering the picture is very small, so it's not like they were using breasts to sell the book. *shrug*
