It's never too early to encourage a love of books and reading in small children.
Our daughter Evelyn has a book she likes already - high contrast colours are good for newborns' eye development - but I'd like to be prepared for when she's old enough to pay attention to books with words.
So please tell me books your/friends' children loved when they were very small. Books to help learn numbers, colours, shapes, etc would be very much appreciated.
We already have a Hairy McLary omnibus, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, a touch & feel animal book, and a book of Bible stories in Norwegian.

I amuse myself.

I don't remember reading quite that young, but I do remember not long after that.

Doesn't need to be an extended period of time, though. A few minutes is enough at the beginning.

Look, it's useless to discuss at this point but let's have the discussion again in 2 years.

If there was a big ad campaign in the UK about this then no-one told my medical team.
