It sounds like an interesting but somewhat dry novel. Tom Send a noteboard - 14/09/2012 02:48:10 PM
If it had been about sordidly giving into temptation, rather than heroically resisting it, I suspect it would have been much more popular (particularly in France).

Also, I would be willing to consider a French book club selection as long as I already have the book in question (which, for the great authors, is likely). I just want to make sure I finish the Divine Comedy in Italian before the end of the year.
Political correctness is the pettiest form of casuistry.

– Procopius

Hm. I might give that a try, then, despite being even less of a fan of Le Rouge et le Noir than you. *NM* - 12/09/2012 09:56:50 PM 227 Views
Sounds like you'd be the only one. This review went over like a fart in church. *NM* - 12/09/2012 11:20:23 PM 263 Views

Yeah, my Princess de Clèves review didn't have much success either. *NM* - 13/09/2012 06:48:07 PM 231 Views
I didn't notice that one. Did you post it last week or the week before? - 13/09/2012 07:42:11 PM 543 Views
