Currently still Robert Kee's excellent "The Green Flag: A History of Irish Nationalism". Legolas Send a noteboard - 01/01/2013 11:19:55 AM
Taking quite a while, what with being a dense history book clocking in at 750 or so pages (without references), but it's utterly fascinating. What I'd need after that is an equally good history of the events after 1923, the Troubles and all. If anybody has any suggestions, do let me know.

After that, I might start Hardy's Far From the Madding Crowd that I'd been intending to read earlier, or Marina Lewycka's "A Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian".

And yes, of course also A Memory of Light when it comes out.
