Nothing new, but The Fionavar Tapestry by GG Kay wooly Send a noteboard - 10/01/2013 07:02:33 AM
High fantasy with a modern twist. Kay is always epic, and he has become my favorite author. I've read everything else he has written except this, and I took my time and savored this series. The major theme in this series is sacrifice for the greater good, with a sub-theme of free will vs. determinism.

I have enjoyed all of Kay's writing, and this is as good a place as any to get started if you haven't already. My favorite of his books is The Last Light of the Sun, but I don't suggest starting there.
