Loved the movie as well. Legolas Send a noteboard - 12/06/2013 10:06:50 PM

Most of the changes made sense and were defensible, a few were less to my taste (Tom didn't need to drive the point home that way to Wilson, for one, and while the frame story may be necessary to get some of the book's best lines into the movie, it's rather weak otherwise), but the story is solid enough that it can take a few questionable changes and still stand strong. With a great cast, great soundtrack and great sets (the last two are kind of automatic with Luhrmann, of course...), the result is marvelous.

The 2013 movie has much the structure of the 1974 film (which review I linked to above) - 20/05/2013 03:58:17 AM 578 Views

The book is lovely, and short so I'd go with reading that first. - 20/05/2013 08:24:16 AM 547 Views
I often find myself in the position of defending Fitzgerald from people who don't think him serious. - 20/05/2013 05:15:22 PM 1071 Views
I prefer Fitzgerald to Hemingway, among others - 21/05/2013 07:36:20 PM 992 Views
