I don't think very highly of the discussions on r/fantasy Larry Send a noteboard - 11/11/2013 08:25:54 AM

Anything that isn't course related. Of those things though, I'm reading more than ever. But none of those are things that I feel like talking or posting about.

I discovered reddit recently, and I know there is a section in it devoted to books, with a pretty healthy population of subscribers, but I haven't been there enough to know what sort of community it is, if they actually have discussions and talk about new authors, and so on. Most of what I've seen were just things that the OF board covered years ago. And to this day it's still always jarring to see Wheel of Time get mentioned outside of this site.

So in short, I don't read, and therefore have no need of any information. If I did though, reddit would probably be the first place I would check, seeing as this place is continuing its descent into the sort of ghost town that makes for a good book setting, but not a good discussion space.

Too much dreck there (leaving aside an occasion in which something I wrote was discussed there, that is - that was worse ), plus the discussions revolve more around the Goodkind type of fantasies (and some Bakker and Sanderson as well, I suppose).

But agreed on this place being a ghost town. I too have little motivation in discussing much these days, as the two blogs I co-operate provide a better platform for me now.
