Even Eco, whose works MIGHT be considered classics at some point, can't be considered a "classic" author.


Oh come on. Most lists of important SF books would include most if not all of the books I listed.

Merriam-Webster defines classic as: 1 a : serving as a standard of excellence : of recognized value <classic literary works> .

I thought the list may be controversial, so I did put classic in quotes. :D

What would you list as "classic" science fiction?
