I do read most reviews.
Good man.
Rarely. As others have stated, a review isn't really open to discussion, it's someone stating their particular subjective opinions about a book. I might weigh in to offer an opinion if I have read said book, but that is more for statistics for the person who wants to decide whether or not to read the book, and in general quite short.
That's the thing. It doesn't need to lead to discussion, or be in depth at all. I just think it would be nice for those who review things to feel appreciated. They do a great job, and it would be grand if people would let them know. Just a little "Thanks" would likely suffice.
Meh. You could hardly call 'em reviews.
Awww.
It is also a matter of knowing your reviewer. I trust a review from someone I already know, whereas a review from a complete unknown is pretty much worthless until I gain a feel of what books this person likes compared to my tastes... so in some sense, reviewing is an interaction between reviewer and reader - reading a mere assessment gives nothing unless you know what factors are assessed.
True. So if we encourage people to be more prolific it's all to the good.
I dunno. My problem at the moment is lack of reading time and lack of funds to get the good books.

Heh. I know what you're saying.

I am rather idiosyncratic about such things.
