Either get the graphic novel adaptations of stories from his The Nightmare Factory, or buy Teatro Grotesco or My Work is Not Yet Done. The tension builds to some really horrific endings, even if the gore is nowhere near the splatterpunk levels.
Could try reading some of Michael Cisco's works as well, such as The San Beneficio Canon or The Traitor.
And then there's Caitlín Kiernan. Read The Red Tree ASAP. I reviewed it on the OF Blog several months ago and I think I posted a copy of it on OF at the time.
