I realized something as I was reading the back. The Elder Scrolls, while extraordinary in terms of world-building, depth, and immersion, come nowhere close to what is needed for a book to be good. They're almost painfully cliche, in fact.

That being said, I'm a super fanboy and I really want to learn more about what happened to Morrowind during the Oblivion Crisis, so I'll almost certainly read it at some point.
