The entire Mistborn series, as a whole, is a rather high quality epic fantasy series. It features a great magic system, good world building, a few interesting lead characters, good to great plotting, and some brilliant sequences and scenes. Highly entertaining series.
Elantris has some flaws, but it has a truly great idea as the foundation. The book could have been brilliant, but it falls short in both its dialogue and the characterization of nearly all but 2 characters.
Warbreaker is a truly entertaining novel with yet another interesting magic system, a lot of humor, and an engaging method of PoV and storytelling that lead to differing ideas of what is actually going on in the background of the story. It falls short of being truly excellent, but it is a very entertaining read.
Sanderson hasn't written a perfect, or even a near perfect novel. He is growing in the craft, visibly so in nearly every single book that he publishes. He is an extremely imaginative and creative writer, and his actual writing is getting better with each project. My personal bottom line on Sanderson is that I've never not been entertained by one of his books.
