Ray Feist and his buddies created Midkemia to be the setting for their own fantasy role playing game, not long after D&D first hit the market. They even published a few books for the game! The series of novels is all history of about 500 years or so before the time period they were playing in.

Do you think Feist did a good job of world building?
As much as I want to say yes to this because I like these books so much, I have to say no in all honesty. Much of the series feels like it was pulled straight out of a D&D campaign or a standard RPG. Good thing it is more character and action driven than environment/exploration driven.

Which world do you think is the more fully realised?
Tsuranuanni seemed to have more detail and thought put behind it; however, we see alot more of Midkemia.

Would you like to live in either of the worlds in this book?
Only if I got to be a magic user.
Death to the Regressives of the GOP and the TeaParty. No mercy for Conservatives. Burn them all at the stake for the hateful satanists they are.
