Jo Graham has written two historical/quasi-fantasy novels, Black Ships and Hand of Isis that touch upon the Aegean world in the 12th century BCE and the last days of Cleopatra. Black Ships in particular was very good.

If you could read Spanish and could acquire the books easily, I would say anything by Javier Negrete would be very appealing, as he was a Professor of Greek at a Spanish university until a year or two ago.
