And has books from the most basic level all the way up until around 4th or 5th grade.

Some of my personal favorites were part of the old goldenbook publishing and the other children's books publishers from when I was a kid (80s :P) No real notable authors, but many of them were good for kids.

Babar the elephant is good. Bernstein bears are classics, and the similar monster books that I believe are by the same authors.

Where the Wild things are, cloudy with a chance of meat balls. Get the classic versions, not anything resembling the movie versions, of course ;) Unfortunately--due to the movies--those two are more expensive these days, but worth it.

Aw man Tash...I could just go on forever for you if I knew the names of any of the books or authors I remember...

If you'd like, I can keep thinking about it and ask my mom the author names of some of the books I liked.
