Starts off at Hogwarts (but with weed and shapechanging sex ), turns into an arty low-budget film about struggling, tortured (but rich) people living in New York and then transforms into Narnia.
Given that precis, the book should have been more awesome and fun than it turned out to be. Instead it was just written rather boringly and petered out at the end.
