It's wonderful. The tone is great, the narrative flows very quickly and well and I like the subject matter (of course).

The scholarship in that book is excellent. And it's just the tip of the iceberg. Many more documents to translate and to write books about. As we get closer to the 400th anniversary of the founding of New Amsterdam we will see more scholarship on the period, I think. Most of it won't be as good as the book you're currently reading.
