Aphra Behn wrote one, as did Etheredge and Congreve, I believe. And it all follows a lot of writing on it in classical Roman literature. Ovid's Amores has something on it, at least.

and that is what most people get caught up in, but if you look behind that there is some excellent poetry. Not that the use of ... colourful words? ... in itself does not have an effect.

I'm kind of confused why you'd recommend him to Rebekah, though. :P


That is true. Then again, Rebekah is much less of a prude than I am.
