Let's perform an exercise. Start by picturing a character from the book you just read. Any character at all. Got him/her in mind?

They'll die.

Sorry for the spoilers. :P The later books aren't bad, but EVERYONE remotely interesting dies off quickly, and there are no worthy replacements.


'EVERYONE' of course actually being "about six really major characters leaving dozens still going" ;)
