"Arkham" is a fictional city created by Lovecraft. It's where Arkham Asylum gets it's name.

Most of his stories are fairly short. I can't really recommend any specific ones, because I read most of his short stories all at once, and they kinda flowed together into one experience in my brain.
I started Call of Cthulhu while I was doing laundry earlier and I just started getting pulled into it. For some reason it makes me think of Batman Arkham Asylum.

Ever hear of the game "Arkham Horror"? Tom is right - it features at least a bit in all the stories

I read an anthology, and overall, my impression was that each story is a standalone
