I do understand that if a punishment is set too high that said pedophiles would have a greater reason to make sure their victims can't tell about it. The same reason they have to be careful about rape punishments. (you have no idea how hard it is for me to not spout violent drivel on this subject) *takes a deep breath*

I don't believe this kind of treatment will help all the perpetrators. I do think the few it could help, it is more worth trying than not.
