I doubt that there are many parents out there who would be forgiving of them.


You don't look to people who have a personal interest in the matter for justice.

If someone is arrested for assault, the judge doesn't ask the victim what they think the penalty should be.

If a guy gets convicted of a hate crime, the judges don't call up a general congregation of minorities for suggestions on how to punish them.


Hell, if I get mugged, I'd be screaming for the guy's blood. If a guy mugged and stole my wallet, I'd totally be okay with him "accidentally" falling down a flight of stairs while en route to court.

But the police wouldn't ask me, would they? And it's a damn good thing, too.



Obviously child abuse is an awful, despicable thing that etc and so forth. But "we should kill them all- any parent would say the same" is not particularly helpful, because of COURSE a parent would say that.
