these reactionary things happened right before a state becomes a minority majority state (where the majority of people are actually considered "minorities";). Arizona will be such a state in the next 10 to 20 years according to estimates.

But right before this switch happens, the reactionaries come out, and try to hold back the sea. It happened in California when Pete Wilson screwed the Republican Party for a Generation in that state, and it is likely to happen here in Arizona as well.
