Live close to the Mexican border and then weigh in on the issue. Illegal immigration is a HUGE problem. Undocumented workers are only making the unemployment problem bigger. Oh, and just a little tiny note, the drug cartels involved in the drug trade from Mexico are INSANE! (By the way, people who dabble in "recreational" drugs, do you know you are furthering the slaughter of thousands of people every year?)


By the way, you do know that the continued (and failing) "War on Drugs" continues to destroy hundreds and even thousands of families every year? You do know that the continued prohibition on recreational drugs does more damage than just getting over the stupid social taboos and legalizing and regulating usage? You do know that legalizing and regulating something like marijuana alone would do more damage to the cartels than the Mexican army and the DEA can ever hope to do?

You do know that an actual plan to try and process illegal immigrants would force businesses to treat them fairly as they could take actions against unfair treatment? You do realize that trying to enforce the current laws has been a miserable failure and that these new laws don't actually do anything to change that situation? You do see that this new legislation is just political horseshit? You do know Draconian measures historically never really do anything but cause more damage?

Yes, I do know how bad things are on the border as I have friends who live in Arizona. It is a serious problem that deserves real critical thinking and brainstorming on some real solutions, not just reactionary legislation based in politics rather than good logic.
