I don't agree with compulsory voting it goes from a right you exercise or choose not to, to something that if you don't do your own representatives makes you a criminal for, i'm for rights, and that include the right not to vote. Making people vote sounds a bit tyrannical to me, just say you don't like any of the candidates too bad you better vote or we'll criminalise you, no thanks not for me.


You can simply spoil your vote, which is seen as an act of protest.

I agree that you should not be forced to vote, but if you choose not to you don't have a right to complain about whatever happens.


Agreed, i can understand the sentiment totally, i wish everyone would vote.

Some Scottish nationalists i know who live in England and didn't have an England equivalent to vote for, just drew a box wrote SNP and put their x in their. I've also heard tales of more infantile ways of expressing oneself.
