Maybe Simon Hughes as Home Secretary, which was also unexpected. Ashdown is too strong a personality to be in such a key role, although he is extremely well-qualified for it.


I was quite surprised to see Ashdown linked - he is an ideal person for the job but is also well known to be at the left leaning end of the party... and wouldn't be scared to say what he thinks. Basically he was too good for office:P
