I'm not ranting whatsoever. He said in his original post, "pipes leak, it happens" as if, like Joel said, this is some minor tire leak he found when he went outside one day and it made him pout a little bit, instead of a full blowout. Saying something like that is akin to saying, "shit happens," or, "this stuff happens all of the time." Sure, leaks happen all of the time, but not ones that cause such tremendous ecological disasters.
Admitting you're ignorant is one thing, saying that along with a very stupid statement is entirely different. "Children deserve to be sold into child sex rings, but I'm ignorant on the subject so..."
