Such mistakes are balanced, because each team benefits from them in one game, but is disadvantaged the next time. It's simply part of the game and adds emotional impact.

For example, the second English "goal" yesterday was the revenge for the wrong decision at Wembley. :D (but yesterday, Germany would have won anyway)


They say it balances out, but I wonder if it's really true.

Some people say that decisions shouldn't matter too much - the only result is the end result. If you get a bad decision, then it's bad luck for your team. I don't know if I can totally agree with that.
