Anyone up to talk about music? Quick and easy:
Do you have a favorite band / genre that you listen to?
I have been listening to a lot of Stoney Larue, Bleu Edmondson and Casey Donahew Band recently.
What are you listening to lately?
I tend to go through phases with the types of music I listen to. For the last little while I have been mostly listening to local Texas country music bands through to be honest some of them really stretch the meaning of the word county.
Why should others listen to it?
They shouldn't if they don't like it. For the most part it isn't written for the radio.
In form a of a response:
I'm kind of a metal head, but listen to a bit of the lighter stuff too. Not one particular favorite band.
Listening to the Volbeat right now. Heard "Still Counting" on my free XM trial and I'm hooked.
Good band, versatile, rock with a metal edge. Check them out if you're into that kind of thing.
Thanks everyone!
I grew on what we called Heavy Metal and Hard Rock but most of what they call metal today I really can't listen to. I sort of stoped listening to hard rock when the hair bands took over and never really got back into it. I still listen to the old stuff but only every once in a while.
I've never followed country music, so it's admittedly something i don't understand very well. Most of the new country is more pop in my mind, and that's how I'm interpreting your statement for now.

I skipped the hair bands too. Started listening to metal when Master of Puppets came out and never turned back. The classics are still great though - Zeppelin and Sabbath are my two favorite "classic" rock bands and paved the way for a lot of good music to follow.
Some of the new (or nu if you want) metal is alright. There are still some great new bands coming out that don't go straight for the radio.
Thanks for the reply!

I do. It's more straight rock than they used to be, but it's good.
