Well not exactly about this - more coming at it from the opposite angle but why are teenage mothers and wayward fathers more common in deprived areas.
I've not actually read it yet:P

the general jist is that it is an evolution thing - animals are evolved to breed more and sooner if they percieve they are in a harsh, unpredictable environment. So in society overall the opposite would be true - we feel safer and more secure. Well, perhaps less right now for some people with the whole messed up economies:P
