Didn't the article say her first step was to go talk to the principal? The principal apparently blew her off. I think she should have just brought it up in a teacher meeting (even if teachers told her she was full of bull, the ones that were taking would at least be taking less after they knew someone was watching), but the chain of action she did take wasn't that extreme. it's not like the first thing she did was go to the media and district office demanding for the principal's resignation :P
