Yes, that is a measly 1%. Sorry, but I don;t see the proof in this claim. I live in an area of the country where the largest Arabic population outside the Middle-East in the world lives and there have never been any problems in any mosques here that I know of. The perception that mosques everywhere are teaching radicalism and training young men in radical ideology is just not true.

With that said, are there some that might be doing this hat haven't been caught? Sure, it is possible. But, as many Muslim leaders have repeatedly said to many deaf American ears, the best way to avoid radicalism is to offer young men and women a place of worship and gathering where their message is tempered with a call to do good and right - new mosques.
But wine was the great assassin of both tradition and propriety...
