First the simple answer: it will be eternal.

Now the difficult-to-describe part.

Premise: there is a perfectly-good, perfectly-holy and perfectly-just God.

Observation: no person alive is perfetly-good, perfectly-holy and perfectly-just.

Theological notion: the perfect and the imperfect cannont coexist in peace, since the way in which the imperfect is not-perfect involves a deliberate choice not to want to be perfect and thus an insult and an attack upon the perfect.

Hence the perfect, being perfect has to vindicate this attack upon his perfection using perfect justice.

Justice needs to answer several questions concerning the nature of a crime, the duration of a crime, the intensity of a crime and the one(s) against whom the crime is committed.

Since the person against whom the crime is committed is perfect and infinite the punishment has to be perfect and infinite.

This is hell.
