It's been ages since I bought a computer or had to look into buying one, but...

I'm looking to buy a new computer and I want to buy a comprehensive unit that has all components installed because I am not an engineer, a computer geek or someone who aspires to be either. I have a Dell but I am disgusted with the performance of this machine, the quality of the parts and the fact that Dell can't even offer a terabyte of memory on its hard drives. I am therefore trying to figure out which company to switch to. I am NOT switching to a Mac - I hate Apple computers as much as I love their non-computer products and can't stand using my wife's iMac to try to do stuff.
I am also trying to minimize wires, interested in just buying an HD TV for a monitor and looking at a printer that would work off a wireless router.
it would seem to me that most any brand can do the things you want to do, and the printer you'd likely have to buy separately anyway. Dell does in fact offer computers with a terabyte of memory, though if you ask me you'd have to have some particularly hard-disk-devouring hobbies to actually need that much. The poor performance of your current computer can be caused by lots of things, but I rather doubt its being a Dell is the main factor there.
I'm not trying to convince you not to switch from Dell - I've no idea what the best computers at the moment are, quite possibly they aren't Dell's - but I found your arguments against them not too convincing.
What sort of computers do people here recommend?
