I'm looking to buy a new computer and I want to buy a comprehensive unit that has all components installed because I am not an engineer, a computer geek or someone who aspires to be either. I have a Dell but I am disgusted with the performance of this machine, the quality of the parts and the fact that Dell can't even offer a terabyte of memory on its hard drives. I am therefore trying to figure out which company to switch to. I am NOT switching to a Mac - I hate Apple computers as much as I love their non-computer products and can't stand using my wife's iMac to try to do stuff.
I am also trying to minimize wires, interested in just buying an HD TV for a monitor and looking at a printer that would work off a wireless router.
I am not looking to economize with substandard parts.
What computer company/website would you recommend?

I'm using a Sony desktop that I bought about 6 yrs ago, and let me tell you.. it is not meant to be opened up, customized, or anything of the sort.
On the other hand, it looks great and I've had zero problems with it. It's always worked and worked great for me. It came with Windows media center and a TV tuner, so if I wanted to, I could plug it into a TV no problem. I've been using a dual monitor setup instead for work and it has worked flawlessly.
The only problem is that the hardware is now getting quite dated for more intense things like gaming. I haven't really gamed much in the past, but when I tried running Starcraft 2, I can barely get it to run smoothly on the lowest settings . Still, it's not worth getting a new computer just for that imo.
Normally, I would try to upgrade the parts, but there is just too much to change, and the Sony parts, like the power supply, are proprietary/made for the specific machine, so they are not easily replaceable with standard parts, which is quite annoying in my case, but probably won't affect you.
So yeah, check it out.
What sort of computers do people here recommend?
