I could just see myself and any co-worker having a conversation like that and neither of us would be hurt or insulted, we would be laughing. Maybe a little off-colored humor but I still wouldn't have taken it as insulting at all if he had said it to me. Do I have rhinocerous skin? Am I one of God's Innocents?
I think you're just very good at giving people the benefit of the doubt. And not letting bad days get to you.
There are a few people that I might have jumped to conclusions about. Just not this guy. He hasn't given me reason to think that he is malicious. The worst he might do is get defensive is he is unfairly accused of something and I have seen that before but his automatic response is so close to what mine would be often that I wouldn't throw stones at him. I tend to snap at people when I am put on the defense. It is all I can do not to.
Really, out of all the people that you know, aren't most of them basically good hearted people? Would most of them hurt anyone on purpose? When I look at people with that in mind it is easier to assume the best. People rarely dissappoint me.
