Tonight the UEFA Champions League starts up again and all the signs are there for Chelsea to walk away with it this year.
Sure, Barcelona are current favourites. Real Madrid may have signed two of the best players in the world over the summer and Chelsea are without one of (if not the) most influential player in the side in Didier Drgoba for the opening matches. But I'm a Chelsea fan and a realist.
So, this week. Do you expect there to be any major upsets? Will Eto'o and Ibrahimovic return to haunt Barcelona / Inter tomorrow night? After a positive start to the season, can anyone see anything other than Kaká and Ronaldo doing the business in Zurich? Will all English teams start with a win?
As a brief side, along with a number of others here every week I study the English Premiership table for Fantasy Football purposes. I study team form, fixtures, injury lists and betting odds. And like clockwork, at around this time of year I then join the UEFA’s Champions League Fantasy Football with the absolute certainty that my team in Europe can’t possibly perform as badly as my Premiership one.
