Unfortunately, identifying wtf you're talking about when taking issue with something they've DONE isn't a personal attack. If you're not claiming the latest accusations are ad hominems you probably shouldn't use the term in reference to them.

The time frame was merely illustrating that, whatever their other (many) faults, liberals seldom if ever condemn conservatives simply for BEING conservatives. Yet while Democratic leaders have been trying to move the party right since the late '80s Republican leaders have been arguing liberalism is tantamount to treason even longer (hence McCarthyism, whose creator the far right is busily trying to "rehabilitate" in a way that would make Stalin proud). The last Republican President told us he was "a consensus builder" and "a uniter, not a divider" but after exploiting Ted Kennedys desperation to pass SOME kind of education reform he blithely cherry picked which parts of the resultant law to implement. Thus the spectacle of the loyal opposition begging the President for SIX YEARS to fund his own bill, while his VP accused them of aiding terrorism and responded to greetings on the Senate floor with "Go f--k yourself". If you want to be non-partisan, instead of reaching across the aisle while never budging your feet, try actually spending some time there and you may find out there are actual HUMAN BEINGS on the other side who love their country every bit as much as you do.

Just so we're crystal clear, the litany of rancor above is a chronicle of ACTIONS, not PEOPLE, though obviously the actions were taken by people.
