Over 10 years ago at wotmania, spamming was a nice, carefree, fun activity, especially those threadjacks where pop culture, kitsch, and all sorts of diverting topics were raised as non sequiturs to the original subject.

Then came the group phase and as annoying as it was for some back in the day, at least several friendships were struck and there was fun had by many.

Today? I see the closest thing to spamming and threadjacking occurs in political/social threads and it's not between those trying to flirt or to have a good time, but rather to argue, restate, argue again, and then proceed straight to talking at cross purposes ad infinitum, ad nauseam until someone else starts an innocuous thread and the contagion spreads.

Dammit, people, we ought to have more fun and less politics here. Or at least open up a limited MB for those few posters to spew their immovable positions at each other so the rest of us can enjoy the most important of things:

Posting about ourselves and our petty accomplishments.
