So I will merely say that a large part of the Christian faith focuses on exactly that - resisting the temptations of the flesh.

Celibacy is celibacy, among heterosexual or homosexual people. But when most denominations of Christianity allow heterosexual people to give in to the "temptations of the flesh" as long as they do it within marriage, while denying homosexual people that possibility, yes, well, then it's kind of hypocritical for them to talk about "resisting the temptations of the flesh" when they do no such thing themselves.
