I got married, got pregnant, quit smoking, had the scare of my life with baby, had a kid and gained 15 pounds, my job is getting more stressful by the day, my sons disorder has its share of challenges( but it's not terrible), and I now think I have a thyroid condition. Issues that were once not important have become increasingly so. Amazingly enough my marriage is still doing well. But forgive me if I am not as light-hearted as i once was, life in general has gotten more serious. We've grown up a little, Larry.

And apparently according to Druid, everyone else got the tummytuck and boob job except me, so excuse me if I'm a little bitter about that. :cries:


Yes, life is a serious thing, too serious to take seriously all of the time, I believe. Until the past year or so, I had almost forgotten how to laugh at life's foibles and my own self. Humility is a very difficult thing for me to learn, but I believe I'm beginning to make the first steps along that path. I better, as I do fear I will be dead from certain health concerns if I don't cleanse myself of very bad habits. Gone 10 days without sodas or anything to drink but water and I already feel much better, with much more energy and little of that extreme drowsiness I'd get after eating a meal.

But hey, if that's a warning bell, then I'd better just enjoy things before it's too late, right? I still need to learn more about others and how they cherish life. As for the job, I escaped from a state testing meeting early today. Those things do send a chill through my spine, but they aren't what makes any of us good/bad teachers, right? :D
