We will probably need to put some special forces on the ground to coordinate the strikes but the US has the ability to dismantle Qaddafi's army from the air. Those mercenaries he hired will lose interest the first time a KC130 gunship rips into them and GPS guided ordnance starts destroying every tank and artillery piece they own. I don't know if Obama will be willing to go that far but it wouldn't take much support on the ground if the US decided to really engage his army from the air.
