After the colonization, there was a sizable amount of Italians living in Libya, who chose to stay and live under the king. When Gadhafi came to power, he seized their property and forced them out, killing some.

Now, 40 years later, payback for those Italians comes in the form of our Eurofighters bombing the shit out of Gadhafi's military assets, and helping Libyan rebels topple his corrupt regime. And I couldn't be happier.

I think I misread - I still find the "payback" concept pretty absurd, but whatever floats your boat. I support removing Qaddhafi as well, just not the idea of killing everyone to do so.
