I'm glad Qatar did join and I think that any nation that offers sincere help should be thanked for making a contribution. I don't want to belittle their 4 jets from the standpoint of "who cares?" or "that's a worthless contribution".
However, Qatari participation doesn't change the profile of the operation in any meaningful way. The PR isn't "European and Arab nations join together". It's "European and US-led coalition". That still gives the impression that it's the West.
I just don't think that it's a bad thing to have the West acting as long as the motives are more or less universally recognized as being good.
