I think that if it was discovered that souls were reborn, it would strengthen most peoples Faith in God. It would lend credence to much of the prophecies about Jesus coming back after Armageddon.
It would also open up new avenues of thought, such as, Would the place souls go while waiting to be reborn be considered Heaven or would Heaven be the end result of a perfect cycle of rebirth and the place souls go be considered Hell?
I think it could also end up with some weird type of Soul Corp that would be on the look out for the rebirth of terrible souls like Hitler, John Wayne Gacy, Bin Laden, etc...
