I said it would depend on what the biological basis for souls are but I do admit I would find it very hard to accept. If it was some sort of energy field that captures an imprint of who we are and that imprint can influence a new person I would find it bizarre but I don't know if I would consider that a soul. I consider souls to be a faith issue not a science issue and I am not a person of faith. If science was to basically prove faith I would have to start questioning everything else I believe. My understanding of science really doesn't allow for things like souls so if souls were proven I would have to doubt my understanding of science. I think we are just smart animals and I think science supports that argument. If that isn't true then the entire apple cart tips.

"Upset [your] belief in" indicated you would doubt science itself rather than just your understanding of it. Questioning the latter often serves the former.
