Re: My two-year-old knows enough to say "thank you". Stephen Send a noteboard - 15/04/2011 04:59:16 PM
We're still working on "please", and when she puts too much food in her mouth she then opens her mouth and lets it drop out but she's only 2 and she already knows that we don't like her doing that so she tries to spit over something that will catch the food, like a plate.

Of course, we had guests not too long ago from Moscow (my wife's friends) who had an 8-year-old who greeted us by saying "Heil Hitler". The parents sort of laughed it off by saying he plays video games all the time, but I thought that was very disturbing nonetheless, for a lot of reasons (not the least being that the mother was Russian Jewish and both parents were Russian).

If he's saying "Heil Hitler" due to playing video games all the time, I think his parents need to limit what he's allowed to play. Whatever the root cause, I do agree, that is unacceptable and disturbing.

"Paki" is used self-referentially in the States without being a slur. Cool your jets. - 15/04/2011 08:07:26 PM 744 Views
