Let me summarize one last time and then I am done:
3 tax cuts, tax revenue increased all 3 times (hmmm, perhaps cutting taxes stimulates the economy, but then again, going 3 out of 3 may just be a coincidence.....
)
2006 case study, via CBO data/estimates:
2000 estimates vs. 2006 realities
Tax revenue was higher than expected, even after the tax cuts
Spending however was much, much higher than expected, which is what caused the deficit for that year. Understand?

Several of those aren't as easy as you make it sound, but the import tax is a big no-no.

Not really. Even if you can substantially raise tax revenue, the entitlement problem remains. *NM*
