And I am ready to take on anyone who's about to counter that line with the usual "But you like Episode 1" crap

*face turns read*
*doesn't say anything with great difficulty*
1. Have you ever dated someone who doesn't read?
hmm, I don't think so. it's not important to me that she's reading 12 books a year but if there are none in her room whatsoever I'd find that pretty odd too.
That's what I'm talking about! Not being much into reading is sone thing... but NOT READING ANY BOOKS but the Bible? This is a serious red flag to me.
3. Do you think music is fundamental enough to your life that it would factor into who you dated?
certainly. music and movies. If someone thinks 50 Cent's new record is the best of the year and Honey 2 the best film since Step up to the streets, there is no common ground in how we see life.
BwAHhAhHAhAhHAhAHAHhahahaaa... point.
4. Have you been on any dates lately?
not for a while
well, if you count dinner and a movie with the partner, all the time.

Sure, they count.
5. Where would you suggest a book lover find... a lover?
in a book store. I'd sneak around the interesting sections, see what books they browse through and go from there. easy to start a convo with "Oh you should get this one, I loved it!" etc.
I'd be too shy.

Also there would be a lot of waiting around... and if a guy liked the books I did, I'd be kind of weirded out.
"Oh you like Princess Diaries? You should totally read Rebel Angels and Meg Cabots stuff for adults like 'Size 12 is not fat'"
Ew.
Having said that... I did try that once... some guy was holding the new WoT book and I struck up a convo... then he started talking about how his gf thought he was weird and wouldn't read them.
Blech.

Being picky about books is very different from insisting that there be some books.

I thought you handled it rather well. Looking for someone compatible does not make you a snob.
